Sunday Programs

Girls Get Fit or girls
Sundays, 12:30-4:30 PM
12 sessions (beg. Feb. 12), $295
Add $115 for door-to-door transportation one way or $230 for round-trip; free from Magen David Torat Chayim.
An all sports & fitness program for girls who want to be active all day. This program will keep them moving with:
Sports: play and instruction in Soccer, Basketball, Kickball, and Dodgeball, under the direction of professional Physical Educators Akiva Hoffman and Elliot Levy;
Gymnastics, taught by our very own professionals from Richmond Gymnastics Center, Paula Simone and Joan Dominguez;
Stunting, girls learn to perform cheerleading stunts from Brittany Geragotelis, a professional cheer dancer;;
Fitness, girls do fitness routines with jump ropes, rope ladders, obstacles, etc, taught by Chueng from the SCC Fitness Center;
Arts, rotating periods of Photography, Cartooning, Woodwork, Painting/Drawing, Fashion/Interior Design, Mosaics and Jewelry;
NEW! Inflatable Sports, a fun way for boys to bounce and play sports and keep fit at the same time in our inflatable stadiums. Gaga, volleyball, basketball, baseball, football and soccer;
Program will end on May 20th, with Super Sunday Showcase including a bake sale run by the boys themselves and all championship sports games. Boys will also see a complimentary showing of our Drama Production, Camp Rock.

The Artist’s Touch for girls
Sundays, 12:30-4:30 PM
10 sessions (beg. Feb. 128), $295
Add $115 for door-to-door transportation one way or $230 for round-trip; free from Magen David Torat Chayim
An artistic program for girls where they can express their creativity in many mediums:
Baking: taught by Tina Marcus Iman, a top baker in our community, in which girls will be able to create their very own treats to eat;
Photography: girls learn the principles of lighting, positioning and focusing their digital cameras, then make their own photo books. Taught by Jessica Alonso, a published photographer;
• Principles of Art: girls will create their own masterpieces through the understanding of various artistic premises and theories, taught by Lenore Mizrachi, an artist from our community with a degree in Fine Arts;
Ceramics: starting with a raw piece of clay, girls will mold, glaze, bake and paint, to make plates, cups, bowls, saucers etc, taught by Doreen Baskin, with a degree in Fine Arts;
Jewelry Design, girls will learn to twist, cut and bead their own fine rings, bracelets and necklaces, taught by community jewelry designer and creator Rachel Tawil;
Arts, rotating periods consisting of Cartooning, Woodworking, Fashion & Interior Design, and Mosaics;
Active!: girls will have do either Gymnastics, Sports, or Fitness.
Program will end on May 20th, with Super Sunday Showcase with an exhibition of the best photos taken, with awards, showcasing all artwork and a bake sale run by the girls. Girls will also see a complimentary showing of our Drama Production, Camp Rock.

Action Club for girls Sunday, 12:30-4:30pm (times may vary earlier or later based on trip) 10 sessions (beg. Feb. 12), $415 Add $115 for door to door transportation one way or $230 for roundtrip door to door transportation. Bus from Magen David Torat Chayim is free of charge. Get the best of both worlds! Go on 5 weeks of trips and participate in The Artist’s Touch and Get Fit programs for 5 weeks. Trips will include a show, arcade, bowling, an amusement park, etc.

Basketball Program for boys
Sundays 12:30-2:00 PM
10 sessions (beg. Feb. 12), $175 (with new jersey), $160 if you have a jersey from previous 3 semesters.
Add $115 for door-to-door transportation to the SCC.
A half-day league in basketball, under the direction of Richie Zim and Magen David’s Sports Coach Eddie Elbaz. Includes drills, training, jerseys, trophies, coaches, and referees. Championship games played on May 20th.

Register with Baseball and receive an $80 discount.

Baseball Program for boys
Sundays 2:00-4:30 PM
10 sessions (beg. Feb. 12), $295
Add $115 for door-to-door transportation home.
A half-day league under the direction of Glen Zykofsky and Richie Simon. First 4 weeks consist of indoor training and batting, fielding and pitching at Brooklyn Sports Center. Baseball goes outdoors on March 25th for a 5-week competitive baseball league at Kinsgbay Athletic Fields. Includes drills and training, trophies, coaches, and referees. Championship games played on Sunday, May 6th.

Weekday Programs

Velocity Sports for boys
Days and time TBD
10 sessions for $180 or $20 per class
Improve strength, endurance and quickness for any sport. As well as getting in better shape for everyday life. Contact Glenn at 718-954-3160 for more information.

SCC Encore Youth Choir (8-15 years)
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 PM
Annual fee: $200, SCC non-members: $225
Improve vocal techniques, and performance skills. Enjoy the camaraderie of performing with an ensemble. Provides performance opportunities.

SCC Encore JR Drum Circle (8-15 years)
Explore a variety of traditional and exotic percussion instruments and musical styles. Contact Adina at 718-954-3140 for info.

SCC Encore JR Guitar Circle (8-15 years)
Enjoy playing with others, while learning and growing together. Contact Adina at 718-954-3140 for info.

Friday Programs

Baking for girls
Friday, 2:00-3:00pm
10 sessions (beg. Feb. 24), $175
Add $40 for bus from school and additional $115 home from SCC.
A baking program where girls will learn to bake, decorate and package cakes, cookies, cupcakes etc. Taught by Tina Marcus Imani, a top baker in our community.

Basketball Instruction & League for girls
Friday, 3:00-4:00pm
10 sessions (beg. Feb. 24), $150
A basketball program for girls where they can learn and practice skills and use them competitively in a league run under the direction of Richie Zim
