July 4th was a wonderful day at Center Sleepaway Camp. Our kids battled in our Patriot Games, Red vs White vs Blue, with the White team emerging victorious. The night was capped off with a beautiful fireworks show put on by our hosts, NJY camps. View the pictures and videos below to capture some of the fun and excitement we felt that day.

On Monday July 11th, Center Sleepaway Camp was sent back in time to 1849. Camp was divided into claims and campers were divided into families. Each family staked a claim, registered it with the bank and began to mine for gold. Their gold was converted to dollars at the CSA bank that they were able to use in the evening at CSA’s Old West Town and Main Street.
Money was used at the saloon, tattoo parlor, general store, cow milking contest, the horse race, bull ride, lasso challenge, shooting gallery and more.

On a hot day, the best thing to do is to stay wet. Campers got their wish on a hot Wednesday afternoon. The huge waterslide, slip and slide, water slighshot wars, pitch burst, bucket battle and water gun fights kept them wet all afternoon long.
Our campers got talent and they showed it off on Wednesday night. The stage was full of dancers, singers, rappers, actors and joksters who entertained us for an evening. Intermissions were fun filled too with campers winning great prizes in our version of Let’s Make a Deal.

Memories
Remember when..we waited for cubbies for like 3 weeks?…we took cold showers everynight..we had “friends” come and eat our food…we were the most hated…chanting…we sat around and spoke about our feelings..pretty little whiners..and the screwed up banner that came with it…we always had the BEST luck with the buses..we flirted with the messed up 7th grade boys..our sinks overflowed for a good 4 weeks..the night we got pranked by the 8th grade boys..last thursday night…we messed up in the talent show…sheila g got sick and slept in isolation for 3 days..margo+barbara+marvin+pranking. Enough said..flash passes!…getting paper cuts from sams food….shirleys mall expeditions…goodnight kisses…sondras projector..tradition soup at night…when our bunk smelled like maple syrup oatmeal for 3 weeks..nancy toussis bed…liam..the big doodie in the big rec…the mabools in our bathrooms…the fake names we made up for nyj..when we threw out our garbage in njy’s garbage cans..not wanting to go to sign ups..“Look at that wall and count the pillars!”..quick joyce and shaya..rollerskating dates that never even happened..itching cookies!!…ruthy eating the crumbs everynight..when everything goes missing..the night we all did each others hair…our visits from the chipmunks..ant farm on nancys bed..“Hiding” your cellphones from us..righhhtt….DRAMA….the night we sang miley cyrus songs for 2 hours…the shorts who never had an owner…the many mirrors we broke..monopoly deal 24/7…“Do I match?”…joys sound efffects..margos beats always on full blast…paula mishan. Enough said…when lauren was one of us for like 2.5 seconds…24/7 summer hw…nikki minaj rap..always being decked out..pocket full of sunshine dance..smurfsss!….when we kept all our food in a box under the bed..which lasted for a day..esther levys dreams..“What day is it? What time is it?”…when we were across from the weight room…the photoshoots on shirleys phone..the constant lists on paulettes phone..“How much longer??”…when danielle metz made them clean the rock…the mailbox that lasted for the first hour of camp..the failed shower list..and the lost and found list…the jiggiling dance..ruthys famous white shirt..cupcake wars like the first week of camp…jessicas dances…fitness with zim…. Everyone always calling paulette….“be good tonight bc I’m on od”…back on the dance floor..40days of camp..30 minutes to get ready every morning..20 campers..10cookies a night…5 hours of sleep..4 busrides a day3 counselors..2 showers…and only one bunk like us! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Bunk 22 Forever!
