Broccoli & Cauliflower with a Rich Cheese Sauce

INGREDIENTS

1 bunch of broccoli
1 head of cauliflower
1/2 cup of skim milk
20 slices of American cheese
1/4 stick butter or margarine
Salt
White pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Steam broccoli and cauliflower in a pot with a colander until almost tender.

2. Arrange broccoli and cauliflower in a Pyrex dish in a pretty pattern.

3. To prepare sauce, put 1?2 cup of skim milk in a heavy pot.

4. As milk is heating, drop in the cheese slices, 4 at a time. Cook until all of the cheese is melted.

5. Add 1?4 stick of butter or

 

margarine.

6. Season with salt and white pepper, to taste.

7. Pour sauce over vegetables in a Pyrex dish.

8. Bake in oven at 350° until sauce is bubbly.
