3 large onions, finely chopped
1 bag lentils (brown)
1 package sambousak dough
1-1/2 cup tamarind
1 cup prune juice
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Pinenuts (toasted)


1. Boil lentils until very soft.

2. Drain water.

3. Add chopped onion and mix well.

4. Add spices.

5. Mix tamarind and prune juice together and slowly add to lentils.

6. Make sure the mixture is wet, it will dry in the oven.

7. Oil the bottom of a baking tray.

8. Put lentil mixture on dough and top with pine nuts.

9. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

If you would like to freeze them, partially bake them then freeze them. Before baking, add a little more juice on top.
