Red Sangria

INGREDIENTS

2 bottles dry red wine
3/4 cup brandy
1/2 cup triple sec or other orange flavored liqueur
3/4 cup simple syrup (recipe follows)
1 cup fresh orange juice 3 oranges, sliced into thin rounds
2 lemons, sliced into thin rounds
3 green apples, cored and thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 2 days before serving.

Syrup:
2. To make simple syrup, combine 3/4 cup sugar and 3/4 cup water, bring to a boil over high heat and let cool until clear.

Makes 12 cups.
