Exciting Recap of the Fourth Annual Center Court ProAm Tennis Tournament

We’re thrilled to bring you an exclusive recap of this year’s Fourth Annual Center Court ProAm Tennis Tournament, an action-packed event that brought together our community’s finest tennis enthusiasts for an unforgettable day of competitive play. The tournament, which took place on Sunday, August 27th, 2023 featured a spectacular display of talent as our best players joined forces with seasoned pros, promising intense and captivating matches throughout the day.

 

A Day of Skill and Spirit

Hosted by Ester and Joey Jerome at their magnificent residence on 1055 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch, NJ, the tournament was a true celebration of tennis excellence. With a focus on Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles, the matches were set to ignite the court from 9 AM onwards.

 

Skillful Pairings and Dynamic Play

The men’s division witnessed 16 amateur players skillfully paired with 16 professional counterparts, making each match an exciting showdown of talent and teamwork. The competition was fierce, and every point was a testament to the dedication and passion of the players. Similarly, the women’s division showcased 12 amateur players paired with 12 professionals. The dynamic duos demonstrated their prowess on the court, showcasing strategic gameplay and remarkable sportsmanship.

 

Victory and Camaraderie

Amidst the matches, camaraderie, and enthusiastic cheers from the spectators, 14 homes became the battleground for thrilling tennis action. The day was highlighted by astonishing victories, remarkable rallies, and exceptional displays of sportsmanship.

 

Celebrating Champions

In the men’s division, Team #7 emerged victorious, with Jeffrey Sutton and Christopher Bullus taking the championship title. Close behind, were Team #2 runner-ups, Bobby Falack and Matthew Fung, who demonstrated exceptional skills and sportsmanship. Their remarkable performance showcased the epitome of teamwork and skill. The women’s division crowned Team #8 as the champions, celebrating the outstanding collaboration between Marsha Gindi and Elysia Bolton. Team #2 runner-ups Betty Sitt and Louise Kwong also displayed phenomenal play.

Honoring Legacy and Looking Forward

The tournament was not only about sportsmanship and competition but also about commemorating cherished memories. The women’s tournament was dedicated to the memory of Lesley Kassin A”H, a dear friend and a remarkable tennis partner. Her spirit of enthusiasm and sportsmanship continues to inspire the community at large.

 

Looking ahead, the tournament will bear a new name, “The Ivan Braka Center Court – ProAm Tennis Tournament,” paying homage to Ivan Braka’s legacy and his significant contributions to the event.

With over 500 attendees and an electrifying atmosphere throughout the day, the Fourth Annual Center Court ProAm Tennis Tournament proved to be a resounding success. Catered by Ray T, the event treated participants and spectators alike to an exceptional day of tennis, camaraderie, and celebration.
