Sagit Shir

Early childhood, vocals, piano, & drums

Sagit Shir’s professional musical path began when she was 18 years old. She was one of very few to be accepted into the official entertainment unit of the Israeli military, touring the country as a singer and drummer for the next two years. Sagit went on to study at the prestigious Rimon School of Contemporary Music and Jazz, where she won several awards in composition, arrangement, and performance. She released her debut album, produced by Moshe Levi, before moving to Havana, Cuba to study Cuban music. In 2008 Shir moved to NYC with her life-long partner and started the acclaimed indie rock duo Hank & Cupcakes. Throughout her musical career, Sagit has loved sharing her vast experience with others by teaching vocals, piano, and songwriting to students of all ages.
